This fall, two beautiful souls celebrated their union in the heart of Gallatin, just outside Nashville, Tennessee. Channing and Jessica Gillespie chose to host their special day at the historic Depot Square Events wedding venue.
Church friend and photographer Sheila Wilson captured the magic of the day. According to Wilson, Channing and Jessica had been high school sweethearts. The couple saved their first kiss to share on this day.
“I have never had a couple seek and then listen so carefully to my advice on planning their wedding for the best photos,” said Wilson. “This was such a blessing and a joy to be a part of, and what a celebration it truly was!”
“There are three guys in particular I may hire and offer as an add-on in my contract, as the ‘Get the party started’ crew. Their energy and general dance craziness was cracking everyone up. Enjoy, and feel free to tag yourself and friends.”
Glamorous decor
With elegant pearls and bright sunflowers, the bride dressed up the huge hall with gorgeous decor. Before the ceremony, Jessica and her bridesmaids did hair and makeup in the bridal suite on site. Meanwhile, Channing and his groomsmen goofed off in the groom suite, complete with a sports table, lounge couches and a comedic groomsmen instruction manual.
The bridal party
Before the snow swept in, the couple took advantage of the outdoors for photos. The historic architecture made the perfect backdrop for their smiling faces. The red brick walls worked great for the group shots. Wilson made good use of the quirky spots around the building, like the rustic front porch and the metal fence rings.
About the building
The historic building on the outskirts of Nashville was constructed with unique metal roof trusses, shipped from Bethlehem Steel Works in West Virginia. The concrete support columns and exterior wall framing lend a rustic feel. Originally built in 1926 by Sloan Distributing Co., the depot primarily served as a dry goods distribution center.
